Received the prep instructions for my colonoscopy today. Looks like a good time. The day prior I eat a light breakfast and “Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup (not Chunky)” for lunch. How much did the Campbells folks pay for this fuckin product placement? After lunch, nothing but clear liquids. Oh, and I have to drink one-half gallon of something called Colyte over a period of two hours. Oh well, I could skip a few meals.
Waaaaah. I have to get a colonoscopy. Its not like its cancer or anything. At least I don’t think. But there is something about a colonoscopy that screams “welcome to middle age.” I turn 40 in Feb. I have been having some fairly regular lower abdominal pain for a few months. I guess I better check it out.
I shouldn’t complain. From what I hear its not really a big deal. I called today to schedule it and they wanted to due it Dec. 31. I said “uhh I’m new to this, can you tell me how I will feel after?” The response was “well you might be a little tired . . . you certainly will not be up to a party that night.” Well seein how it is New Years Eve that may be a problem. So, its scheduled for the first week of Jan.
